The Curse of Griffith Park
- At 4,210 acres the park houses the "Griffith Observatory, the Greek Amphitheatre, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Museum of the American West, the Travel Town train museum, two golf courses, a merry-go-around, countless hiking and horse trails, the Hollywood sign, a few ghosts, and an old 1863 curse" (Weird California). Yes a curse. Long story short a dying man's hand was attached to a stick and signed a new will that left his property to the wrong family member. When the man finally died the rest of his family was thrown onto the street. In anger his blind niece put a curse on the land that who ever owned it would be met with nothing but trouble. House o' Rocks
- Somewhere on the beach between Leo Carrillo and County Line there is a little house made of rocks. The legend is that whenever the house of rocks gets knocked down by people or waves someone mysteriously builds it again. According to locals, this has been going on since the sixties. (This place is a difficult place to find, but it is there.)

The Monster of Lake Elizabeth
- From 1830 to 1886 patrons of the town of Lake Elizabeth near Palmdale, California would report weird happenings. Screams could be heard in the night and people would hear unnatural noises. Several farms also report seeing a creature that lived in the lake. The creature himself is said to be the devils pet and the lake was it's home with a direct passage to hell. The creature was described as "having bat wings, the neck of a giraffe, the head of a bulldog, six legs, a length of at least fifty feet, and emit a horrible nauseating stench" (Weird California). Bullets couldn't hurt the creature and the livestock began disappearing. It wasn't until a Basque immigrant by the name of Miguel Leonis moved into town. The first several months nothing happened but then his workers began to report several livestock missing and a large winged shadow flying over the ranch every single night. Pissed off Miguel decided to take things into his own hands. That night he engaged the creature in battle, bullets bounced off the thick skin so Miguel took matters into his own hands. He moved in with his rifle and hit the creature in the nose and then punched it in the eye. So taken aback by the sudden show of violence, the creature returned to the lake to heal its injured eye. Once healed the creature fled the lake and headed east to Arizona where it was reportedly killed.

Sightings range from a second to thrity minutes. I for one am curious to why we would have so many different sightings. Could if be our geological location or something, or someone, they may want? How ominious.

Char Man
-This man is scary, period. When we read this we were genuinely scared. Even writing this is a pain in the butt cause we know we are going get freaked out, but this is one legend that must be told. In Ventura County at Camp Comfort County Park (very slasher flick name, no wonder its haunted) there is a bridge that is haunted by no other then Char Man. The name itself says it all. The legend is that if you cross this bridge, get out of your car and scream "Help me! Help me!" a monster will run towards you. Char Man is horrific. His skin is charred (duh) and peeling off his body. There is some evidence of burnt badages on his body and his B.O. is that of burnt flesh. There are several speculations as to how a man had become Char Man. The most grotesque story is that of a father and son who both died in 1948. Both got caught in a fire that burned both of them. The father dies before help can arrive and the son going mad skins the father and hangs the lifeless body in a tree. After he does this he runs into the forest thus becoming Char Man.
The legend of Char Man is so popular that the bridge in which he haunts is called "Char Man Bridge." In the Challenge section you will see the Char Man Challenge. If your brave enough to do this challenge you deserve a medal.
